부모의 학업성취압력과 고등학생의 시험불안 간의 관계에서 사회부과 완벽주의의 매개효과

Abstract

본 연구는 부모의 학업성취압력과 고등학생의 시험불안 간의 관계에서 사회부과 완벽주의의 매개효과를 검증하고, 성별에 따라 차이가 있는지 살펴보기 위하여 실시하였다. 이를 위해 G광역시 3개 고등학교 2학년 551명으로부터 수집된 자료를 분석하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 통해 사회부과 완벽주의가 부모의 학업성취압력과 시험불안과의 관계를 매개하는지 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 전체집단과 남학생 집단에서는 부분매개모형이 더 적합한 모형으로 확인되었고, 여학생 집단에서는 남학생 집단과는 달리 완전매개모형이 더 적합한 것으로 나타나 성별에 따른 차이가 있음을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 고등학생들의 시험불안을 감소시키기 위해서 부모들의 학업성취압력이 자녀들에게 과도한 심리적 부담으로 지각되지 않도록 하기 위해 부모 교육과 사회부과 완벽주의 성향을 낮추는 상담 개입 및 프로그램 계발이 필요하며, 성별에 따라 다른 개입이 필요할 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study investigated the relations among parental pressure for academic achievement, socially prescribed perfectionism, and test anxiety in a sample of high school students. In addition, the current study also examined the mediating effect of socially prescribed perfectionism on the relation between parental pressure for academic achievement and test anxiety. Data from 551 second year students in three high schools in G city were analyzed. The participants completed the Parents Academic Achievement Pressure scale, the Socially Prescribed Perfectionism subscale of the Multidimensional Perfectionism scale, and the Test Anxiety scale. The result of correlational analysis showed that parental pressure for academic achievement, socially prescribed perfectionism, and test anxiety were positively related to each other. The result of structural equation modeling indicated that socially prescribed perfectionism had a partial mediating effect on the relation between parental pressure for academic achievement and test anxiety. Furthermore, there was a partial mediating effect of socially prescribed perfectionism for male students, but a full mediating effect for female students. The implications for parents, teachers, and school counselors and the suggestions for future research were discussed.
