Abstract
We are going to analyze mathematically the downswing of the golf swing using the double pendulum model and Lagrangian function. We will show existence for expressed as a system of a differential equations of the arm and the club.In order to obtain the clubhead speed, we calculate the angular speed of the arm the club by Runge-Kutta method. Using the calculated value of the clubhead speed, we can also obtain a projection angle of the maximum projectile range of the ball.
