현대인의 욕망과 염원에 대한 상징적 표현 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2008년부터 2012년 현재까지 제작해온 본인의 작품을 연구 대상으로 하였다. 작품의 창작동기와 발상, 표현하고자 하는 주제와 작품 의 조형적 특성과 표현을 분석하여 본인의 작업을 체계적으로 제시하기 위한 작품연구 논문이다. 인간은 태어나면서부터 욕망을 갖는다. 거기에는 생존을 위한 생리적 욕구 뿐 아니라, 재물, 명예, 권력 등의 현실에서의 세속적인 욕망도 포 함된다. 이러한 사실은 본인의 작업에서 중요한 시작점이 되었다. 사람들 은 끝없는 세속적 욕망을 추구하고 있지만, 동시에 나는 누구일까?, 나 는 어디서 왔으며, 어디로 가는 것일까?, 이 세상을 어떻게 살아야 할 까?라는 근원적인 질문을 끊임없이 던지고 고민한다. 본인은 현대인의 현실적 욕망과 그에 따른 행동, 그리고 그로 인한 결 과들을 보면서 세속의 유혹으로부터 초탈하여 자연의 질서를 거스르지 않고, 인간을 비롯한 모든 만물과 조화를 이루는 삶에 대한 갈망을 갖게 되었다. 이것은 궁극적으로 이상적인 세계에 대한 염원이라고 할 수 있 겠다. 본인은 상징이라는 조형언어를 통하여 이러한 현실에 대한 이해, 그리고 이상적인 세계에 대한 염원과 기대를 작품으로 표현하게 되었다. 본 연구는 현대인이 가지고 있는 현실적인 욕망과, 이상적 세계에 대 한 염원을 표현한 본인의 작품을 분석한 논문이다. 작품 제각의 동기와, 작품 세계의 근간이 된 배경은 무엇이었는지, 또 각 작품의 의미와 그 조형적 특성은 무엇인지 밝히는 데 그 의의가 있다. 본 논문은 Ⅰ. 머리말, Ⅱ. 현대인의 욕망과 염원에 대한 상징적 표 현, Ⅲ. 욕망과 염원에 대한 상징적 요소, Ⅳ. 표현기법과 제작과정, V. 맺음말의 다섯 부분으로 구성하였다. - ii - Ⅰ장에서는 창작의 동기를 서술하고 연구내용과 순서를 소개하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 사람이 사회 속에서 살아가면서 갖는 세속적인 욕망과 함 께, 동시에 막연히 갈망하게 되는 이상적 세계에 대하여 서술하면서, 이 러한 주제로 작품을 제작하게 된 동기와 작품 세계의 근간이 된 배경에 대하여 서술하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 본인의 작품의 의미와 상징적 요소에 대해 본격적으로 서 술하였다. 작품의 소재에 따라 각각 여성의 상징성, 자연물의 상징성, 인 공물의 상징성, 카툰 이미지의 상징성으로 나누어 분석하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 조형적 특성과 표현에 대하여 선 표현기법, 구도, 견화 제 작과정으로 나누어 서술하였다. Ⅴ장에서는 본 연구의 의의와 앞으로의 과제에 대하여 서술하였다.

The objective of this thesis is to take a closer study of my works from 2008 to 2012. A thorough examination of my motive of creation, the idea of my works will be presented in a systematic manner. The thesis will also include the analysis of the formative characteristic and theme expression of my works. Humans are born with desires. Other than the basic physical needs for survival, other more materialistic desires in this real world includes wealth, fame, power, etc. These facts about human desires are an important start for my works. While humans endlessly pursue their materialistic desires, they often ask themselves contradicting yet fundamental questions like Who am I? Where did I come from, where will I go after my death?, How should I live my life in this world?. By studying the behaviors of modern human beings, the desires, the consequences of their actions and going beyond their temptations, I aspire about the life that is the result of the order of nature, the beginning of human being which started from the blending of creation and nature. This could be called a yearning for a perfect world. - 56 - Using the symbolic modeling language, I express my understanding of this human nature, their desire and aspirations and expectations for the ideal world through my works. This thesis consists of the analysis of my work about my understanding and views of the desire of modern human beings and their ideology of the world. It will also look into my creation motives, background, the characteristic meaning of each piece of work. This thesis comprises of five chapters namely

'I. Preface ',' II. A Significant Expression of Modern Human desires and aspirations',' III. The symbolic elements for desires and aspirations',' IV. Representation techniques and the production process', V. Conclusion " In Chapter I, describes the motives of created content and introduced sequence and contents of study. In Chapter II, describes the people are living in a secular society with the desire, and at the same time vaguely craving for the ideal world, It also described motivation and background of foundation of works. In Chapter III, describes in detailed the meaning of my work and the symbolic elements. Depending on the material of the work, each woman has a different symbolization, the symbolization of natural objects, artifacts of the symbolism, the symbol of cartoon images were divided into the castle. In Chapter IV, describes the formative characteristic and expression techniques namely Gyeonhwa and Gongpilhwa. In Chapter V, describes the significance of this study and future challenges.
