Objectives. The aim of the present study was to examine the bone density objectively in implant sites of posterior maxillae using computed tomography and to evaluate possible correlations between age, gender, geometry of implants (design, diameter), maximum insertion torque measurements, and resonance frequency analysis (RFA) values.
Methods. 30 patients who treated with 60 implants in posterior maxilla area were evaluated. Two different types of dental implants were used (30 SLActive○R Bone level implant and 30 CMI IS-II active○R). The bone densities in each implant site were determined using CT and cat-egorized according to Mischs classification. The maximum insertion torque data and reso-nance frequency analysis (RFA) measurements were recorded.

The maximum insertion torque data and resonance frequency analysis (RFA) measurements were recorded.
Conclusions. The bone density evaluated by CT showed a significant correlation with the pri-mary stability parameters. These values can provide the implant surgeon with an objective as-sessment of bone quality, which could result in modification of surgical technique, especially in situation where poor bone quality is suspected
