Abstract
We explore a resource allocation problem in which members of a society may have different ability to produce an output. In the first part of this paper, we show in a fixed population model that it is either a resource-egalitarian rule or an output-egalitarian rule that satisfies the axioms of priority, solidarity and composition. In the second part, we extend the model so that agents have two capabilities. It is shown that an allocation rule satisfying priority and solidarity is a rule which equalizes indice of all agents, where an index consists of given amount of resources and outputs that can be produced with them.
