육체의 비정형적 변형을 통한 본원적 욕망의 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서 다루는 그림의 주제는 인간의 본원적 욕망이다. 본원적 욕망이란, 보다 큰 힘이나 존재에 속하고 싶은 일종의 종교적 감정과 더불어 본능적인 욕구에서 비롯된 성적 욕망을 말한다. 내가 말하는 종교적 감정은 어떤 특정한 종교와 관련된 것이 아니라, 자연에 대한 것이며, 자연의 변화를 이끄는 근원적인 힘과 관련이 있다. 나는 근원적인 힘의 특성이 인간의 마음에도 적용되며, 인간의 성의 기초가 되는 것이라고 보았다. 이러한 관점을 바탕으로 나는 본원적 욕망의 두 요소를 그림에서 함께 표현했다. 내 그림의 주된 소재는 여성의 육체이다. 이는 내가 여성의 육체에서 성적 욕망을 느끼며, 성적 욕망을 바탕으로 육체를 변형하기 때문이다. 그림에서 변형된 육체는 근원적인 힘의 표현으로 비정형적인 모습으로 나타난다. 이때 비정형이란, 아직 일정한 형태를 갖추지 않은 상태이자, 형체의 변화를 함축하는 상태를 말한다. 육체의 비정형적 표현에서 생동감을 부여하는 것은 화면의 구성과 색채이다. 나는 색채의 효과적인 활용을 뒷받침하는 요소로서 즉흥적인 얼룩의 활용과 저부조적 화면의 구성을 제시하였다. 이러한 요소의 도움으로 색채의 고유한 차이를 강조할 수 있었고, 이를 통해 비정형적 특성이 강조된 형상에서 생동감을 강조할 수 있었다. 비교적 균일한 색채가 바탕, 육체, 육체의 내부에 할당되어 나타나고 이 색채들 사이의 연속적인 변화를 강조함으로써 근원적인 힘의 흐름을 표현하였다. 이러한 표현을 실현할 수 있었던 것은 유화의 유동적인 특성과 이를 활용하여 색채의 변조를 구성하기 용이한 기법이 있었기 때문이다. 본 논문을 통해 나는 내 그림의 주제를 비롯한 그림의 제작과 관련된 전반적인 과정을 정리할 수 있었고. 이를 통해 나는 추상적 표현에 대한 욕구를 인식하고 적극적으로 수용하게 되었다.

This thesis is about my paintings subject which is basic desire. Basic desire is humans longing for being combined with bigger power or bigger existence, and also it is instinctive sexual desire. sometimes I paint these two elements separately, but usually these elements are combined in one painting. Because combining two elements give me more intense feeling. Even when I couldt realize what I was painting, I pursued the intensity, and this thesiss purpose is to figure out the meaning of the intensity. In conclusion, for me, basic desire is a longing for increase the perfection of oneself, so it is a desire to be in state of intense. In comprehensive word, It is a desire for intense life. The longing for being combined with bigger power is related to natures perfection. After I got impressed by naturess perfection, I had to think any power that can support natures perfection. I called this power in my thesis as fundamental power. For me, fundamental power and sexual desire is same thing. I expressed sexual desire by deforming body, the expression of sexual desire and the expression of fundamental power is combined. I used light as a symbolic element of fundamental power, and I combine it with human body or I present fluid stated of body within flow of circulation of fundamental power. It is an attempt to convey the sublimity of nature into haman figure. Colour inspires vitality on the expression of the basic desire. What I immediately judge the intensity of painting is whether the colours innate characteristic is emphasizing or not. I expressed intensity of colour and its innate characteristic through colour variation. Feeling the innate characteristic of colour is feel sympathy with the colour. I achieved this effect by using chance based techniques. From this thesis, I noticed that in my painting, color is more important than definite form. when I analysis my painting, separating two elements was good for thinking about the intensity. I hope this thinking of the intensity to be motive of expressing basic desire.
