Abstract

At the same time, it is also a place for local cultural heritage, modern cultural communication, and community members to communicate.

As public libraries continue to shift to the community, their management becomes more open. On the basis of the informatization and openness of ordinary public libraries, community libraries continue to develop their humanity and personalization. Today's community library space model has changed dramatically compared to ordinary public libraries. It evolved from ordinary library functions into a comprehensive, multi-functional community information center, learning center, life center, and service center. It is a complex community cultural space that integrates a variety of functions including accommodation learning, community cultural communication, community needs support, and community member exchange.

Today's urban public space redefines the relationship between public and private. The collective space becomes a new vocabulary describing contemporary urban space. As an important public space in the community, community libraries are complementary to contemporary urban public spaces. Under such a trend of development, the user-centered space of community libraries must reflect the specific requirements of contemporary urban collective space in the process of self-improvement. It needs to adapt to the development of contemporary virtual information technology and the requirements for the development of physical cities. And adapt to the diverse use requirements of users in different communities. Community libraries need to enrich the user experience through the construction of architectural space. It also needs to achieve a collective space within the building to respond to the needs of community development and the development of urban public space.

In the past five years, the Chinese government has made more and more demands for community cultural construction. Among them, establishing libraries around people in the community has also become one of the requirements for the development of the Chinese library industry in recent years. Chinese libraries have made progress in design concepts, but there are also many problems. At the same time, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries have made achievements in the development of community libraries. Excellent foreign community library architecture reflects the reflection of community needs and the manifestation of collective space in designing methods and expressions. Therefore, learning from the case study of excellent community libraries in foreign countries is of great significance for summarizing the methods for realizing the collective space in community libraries. At the same time, it also has a catalytic effect on community cohesion and activation.

Based on the above background, this paper focuses on the design case of community library building and user center space established after the 21st century. The research content is based on library science and architecture literature on the library. A large number of literature surveys and field investigations were conducted to collect, collate, and analyze outstanding cases of community libraries. Finally, by analyzing, comparing, and summarizing, the methods for realizing the collective space in community libraries are sorted out.

This thesis takes the basic theories of library science and architecture and the research of urban public space as the theoretical basis. Based on case analysis, the paper investigates and studies the basic situation of the community where the library is located, and analyzes the user's use behavior requirements for compounding. According to the classification method of the user center space that is summarized in the paper, the author analyzes the spatial composition features of the community library user center and the way to realize the collective space. Through the analysis and comparison of examples of community libraries in different community types, this paper summarizes the techniques for realizing collective space in the user center space of contemporary community libraries. It is hoped that this thesis will not only have a summarizing and promoting effect on the development of community library architecture, but also have certain guiding significance and reference significance for the community development and the supplement of community public space.

This dissertation studies from the perspective of fusion of disciplines. The knowledge background in the paper is designed into many fields such as architecture, library science, sociology, and politics. The influencing factors are more complicated. Therefore, it will be limited by the learning background, when the author analyzes the theory outside of architecture. Some of the points raised in the article still have deficiencies that need to be further refined in later studies.
