탈신화화 수단으로서의 반(反)전기: 파스테르나크 전기를 중심으로

Abstract

이 글은 전기의 하부 장르로 이해할 수 있는 반전기를 탈신화화의 관점에서 조망함으로써 해당 장르의 특수성을 살펴보는 것을 목표로 한다. 넓은 의미에서 전기라는 장르가 그 기술 대상에 대한 일종의 신화화 구축에 일조하는 것으로 볼 때, 반전기란 신화화된 대상에 대한 탈신화화의 시도로 요약될 수 있을 것이다. 러시아 내에서 반전기라는 용어는 저널리스트 출신의 전기 작가 타마라 카타예바의 저서들('안티-아흐마토바', '안티-아흐마토바 2')로 인해 널리 알려지게 되었다. 카타예바는 아흐마토바를 비롯하여 푸슈킨, 파스테르나크의 사생활에 집중하며 익히 알려진 이 신화적 인물들의 다른 면을 파헤친다. 이 글은 동일 대상에 대해 상반된 시선을 견지하는 두 전기, 즉 드미트리 비코프의 '보리스 파스테르나크'(2005)와 카타예바의 '다른 모습의 파스테르나크'(2009)를 비교함으로써 전기의 전형으로 볼 수 있는 전자와 반전기의 전형으로 볼 수 있는 후자 간의 차이점, 즉 전기 작가의 태도 및 서술 기법, 자료 선택상에서 두드러지는 차이점을 살펴본다. 그리고 이를 통해 반전기가 탈신화화의 수단으로 적극 활용되고 있음을 파악한다.

This paper aims to examine the specificity of the genre of antibiography, by looking at this genre from the point of demythologization strategy. In the broader sense, the genre of biography can be summarized as an attempt to construct mythologization of subscribed persona, and antibiography can be defined as a kind of demythologization strategy of this mythologized persona. In Russia, the term antibiography became widely known, after had been published two monographs-biographies Anti-Akhmatova, Anti-Akhmatova 2, written by journalist Tamara Kataeva. Focusing on the secret private life of Akhmatova, Pushkin, and Pasternak, Kataeva tries to uncover another aspects of these mythical figures. This article compares Dmitry Bykovs Boris Pasternak (2005) and Kataevas Another Pasternak (2009), written by authors with two different visions on the same persona, and traces the distinguished aspects of the narrative technique, the attitude of the biographer, and the data selection, which were expressed in the example work of biography (Boris Pasternak) and the example work of antibiography (Another Pasternak). And it confirms that antibiography was created as a strategy for demythologization.
