Impact of a Multi-Layer Adapter on the Business Models of IP/MPLS and Transport Service Providers

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current business models of transport service providers, IP/MPLS service providers, and other stakeholders in the network industry. Based on this analysis, we will also propose new business models for the execution of the multi-layer adapter that will enhance existing business models of transport and IP/MPLS network providers. In order to identify the changes in the value creation of the new business models, we analyze the value creation of business model using theoretical models in that area of business modeling. Finally, to check the efficiency and effectiveness of new business models and their impact on various stakeholders in the network industry, we carried out simulations. The results of the simulations will be used to give recommendations to stakeholders in the network industry, who are affected by the introduction of a multi-layer adapter.
