Abstract
Low molecular weight spandex is reported as a binder of olivine-LiFePO4 cathodes with improved rate and cycling performance. The hard segments of spandex form hydrogen bonding with LiFePO4 and aluminum current collector, enhancing the cohesion and adhesion of the electrode film. Also, the low mole-cular weights require a smaller amount of solvent, saving cost and the environment in manufacturing.
