Abstract
(Chemical Equation Presented) Attractive catalyst: Molybdenum oxide nanoparticles have been incorporated into a mesoporous silica shell and coated on silica-coated magnetite nanoparticles for use as a magnetically separable heterogeneous epoxidation catalyst. This catalyst, which has a low Mo loading of 1 mol%, can be recycled and reused six times in the epoxidation of cis-cyclooctene with no major loss of activity (see picture). © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
