사용 맥락 개념을 이용한 군수품의 설계 및 사용성 평가 방법 개발

Abstract

본 연구에서는 대한민국 군의 군수품 개발 및 획득 절차를 ISO 9241-210에 제시된 인간 중심 설계 개념과 군수품의 사용 맥락을 반영하여 개선하였다. 또한, 개선된 군수품 개발 및 획득 절차에 따라, 군수품의 사용성을 평가하고 사용성 정도를 진단할 수 있는 다양한 방법을 제안하였으며, 군수품의 사용성을 향상시킬 수 있는 새로운 측면의 설계 방향을 탐색하였다. 본 연구를 위해 군장 배낭과 장보고급 잠수함의 다기능 콘솔이 사례 연구 대상으로 선정되었으며, 사용자 관찰 및 의견 수렴을 통해 각 군수품의 사용 맥락이 추출되었다. 또한, 추출된 사용 맥락을 기반으로 사용성 평가 도구 (사용성 평가 설문, 사용성 검증 실험)를 개발하였으며, 사용성 평가 도구를 통해 사용자 시각에서 보다 현실적인 군수품의 개선 방향을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, 사용성 평가를 통해 현재 한국군에서 사용하고 있는 군수품의 가장 큰 문제점 중 하나가 사용자의 인체 크기 특성을 제대로 반영하지 못한 채 군수품의 규격을 설정하는 것이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 사용자의 인체 크기와 군수품의 설계 규격 사이의 부적합 문제를 해결하고 군수품의 정상적인 사용을 보장하기 위한 부적합 제약식을 고안하였으며, 부적합률을 최소화 하기 위해 알고리즘 접근법을 적용하여 군수품의 신규 규격 체계를 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 방법론과 결과는 군수품의 사용성을 평가하는 실질적인 수단으로 활용될 수 있을 것이며, 군수품 개발과정에 사용자의 의견을 보다 적극적으로 반영함으로써, 군수품에 대한 사용자의 만족도를 증진시킬 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 사용자 인체 크기와 군수품 규격 간 부적합률을 최소화 시켜, 사용자의 물리적 피로와 부담 완화를 도모할 수 있음은 물론, 향후 다양한 군수품의 규격 선정을 위한 새로운 지침으로도 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

In this study, the procedures for the development and acquisition of military supplies of the Korean military were improved by reflecting the concept of context of use and human-centered design presented in ISO 9241-210. In addition, practical and quantitative methods for evaluating and diagnosing the usability of military supplies were presented in accordance with the improved procedures, and specific design directions for enhancing the usability of military supplies were suggested. For this study, the multi-function console of Jang Bogo-class submarine and the military backpack of Korean Army were selected as the subjects of case study, and the context of use of each subject was extracted by collecting opinions from actual users. Based on the extracted context of use, a usability evaluation tool (usability questionnaire, usability verification experiments) for each military supply was developed, and more practical direction for improvement of military supplies could be identified from the user's perspective using the developed usability evaluation tool. As a result of the usability evaluation, one of the biggest problems with military supplies currently used by the South Korean military was to determine the specification of military supplies without properly considering the body size characteristics of users. Therefore, the mismatch equation for each design variable was devised using anthropometric variables, and a new specification system using an algorithm approach was proposed to solve the problem of mismatch between the user's body size and the design specification of military supplies. The methodology and results presented in this study could be used as a practical means of evaluating the usability of military supplies, and by more actively reflecting users' opinions in the development procedure of military supplies, they could contribute to enhancing users' satisfaction with military supplies. In addition, by minimizing the mismatch between users body size and military supply specifications, physical fatigue and burden of users will be mitigated, and could also be used as a new guideline for the specification of military supplies in the future.
