Abstract
In this paper, I closely analyzed the contents of twenty-three headnotes described on handwritten Sangseo jiwonrog(尙書知遠錄) boyu version comparing with Jeong Yak-yongs other books. The findings are summarized as follows.
First, among twenty-three headnotes, Dasan wrote ten, which corrected formats or supplemented arguments of manuscript.
Second, especially, fourth headnote which differentiated Jeon(田) with Se(稅) strengthened the argument of manuscript that the tax system of Three Dynasties operated in a dual way.
Third, sometime after writing ten headnotes, Dasan copied boyu version to make Berkeley version.
Fourth, the date of Berkeley versions writing was no later than March 1821, when Mokmin simseo(牧民心書) was completed. More detailed date can be confirmed through the research of writing process of Gyeongse yupyo(經世遺表).
Fifth, the opinions described on the other thirteen headnotes were different from Dasans opinions.
Sixth, based on the similarity in handwriting, it is supposed that thirteen headnotes were written by Dasans grandson-in-law Yun Jeong-gi(尹廷琦), and that the date was around 1868.
