일제강점기 규장각 書目의 `記錄類` 형성 과정

Abstract

A new book cataloguing method was made for the books of Kyujanggak Archive by colonial Chosun Government-General in March 1912. It maintained traditional four division(四部) system[i.e., Classics(經), Histories(史), Philosophy(子) and Belles lettres (集)], and a new specific category of genealogy and record(系譜 · 記錄類) was set under that of Histories. This was for inserting the books on Chosun Dynasty and royal family[e.g. royal family record(璿源錄), record of royal protocols(Uigwe, 儀軌), and annals of dynasty(王朝實錄), etc.], traditionally excluded from catalogues of books, into four division system. Later the division system changed again, and as a result, the category of genealogy and record was split into category of genealogy and category of record, causing mix of the royal and ordinary books. This means dissolving the group of the books on Chosun Dynasty and royal family in book division system, implying a part of colonization through degrading Chosun Dynasty. And the category of record became too huge by combining official documents produced by Korean Empire, leaving the problem of imbalance in book division system of Kyujanggak Archive that has not been solved clearly yet.
