국내 포털사이트의 PGA 투어 영상 콘텐츠 조회수에 영향을 미치는 요인

본 연구는 국내 포털사이트 내에서 제공되는 PGA 투어 영상 콘텐츠를 살펴보고, 조회수에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 실증적으로 분석했다. 이를 위해 2019년 1월 10일부터 8월 4일까지 약 8개월간 포털사이트에 업로드된 PGA 투어 정규 시즌의 1,023개 영상 콘텐츠를 최종 선정해 분석대상으로 삼았다. 영상 콘텐츠의 조회수를 종속변수로 라운드, 영상 종류, 대회선두 등급, 대회 유형, 한국선수, 썸네일, 제목유형, 대회선수 등급을 독립변수로 하였고, 각 요인의 특성을 분류하여 조회수에 미치는 영향을 조사했다. 연구결과 라운드, 영상 종류, 대회 유형, 한국선수, 썸네일, 제목 유형이 포털사이트 PGA 투어 콘텐츠 조회수에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 중 라운드는 마지막 라운드인 4라운드가 나머지 라운드 보다 영향력 정도가 높게 나타났으며, 썸네일은 정적인 내용보다 긍정적이거나, 자극적일 때 조회수가 더 높았다. 이외에 대회 유형은 인비테이셔널과 챔피언십 대회가 영상 콘텐츠 조회수에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 영상 종류는 보너스 영상과 라운드개요 영상이 조회수에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 스윙분석 영상만이 더미변수에 대해 추정된 계수가 양(+)의 값을 가졌지만 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 마지막으로 영상 콘텐츠 내에 한국선수가 등장 할 경우 조회수가 더 높았다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the PGA Tour video contents provided in Korea domestic portal site and also, empirically analyze the factors affecting the number of views. For this study, 1,023 video contents upload at the portal site were selected to analyze. The video contents are regular PGA Tour events that proceed from January 10th to August 4th in 2019. The Factors affecting the View of PGA Tour Video Contents are classified into several different characteristics. The variables are Round, Video Category, Thumbnail. Leader Level, Type of event, Korean Player, Title, and Player Level. The result of the study showed that Round, Video Category, Type of Event, Thumbnail, Korean Player, and Title have a significant effect on the number of views. For the Round factor, the final Round had a higher influence than the rest of the Round variables, and Thumbnail, both positive and negative had a significantly positive effect on the view. Also, championship and invitational events had a positive influence on the number of views. As for the Video Category, the Bonus Image and the Round Outline has a significant effect on the view. However, among those category variables, only the swing analysis had a positive estimated coefficient for the dummy variable but did not show a statistically significant difference. Finally, the view of PGA Tour video content was higher when Korean Player appeared in the video content.
