Abstract

The names of the "fellow-travellers" such as accompanying writer, progressive intelligentsia writer made us aware that literature of the "fellow-travelers" was the circumference and friends of the proletariat literature, petit-bourgeois progressive trend, tendency, in-between writers. The various definitions about the fellow-travelers from the year 1926 to the year 1946 include the facts that the disposition of the fellow-travelers leaned toward KAPF, that the fellow-travelers was different from KAPF writers in terms of artistic character and ideology. When these elements are put together, complete definition about fellowtravelers will come out. The phase of fellow-travelers changed from "belongings to KAPF" to "the third, independent being." Right after 8·15 Emancipation, the thought that the fellow-travelers is similar to the progressive writer or in-between writer became popular. The character and the phase of the fellow-travelers will be re-elucidated when general principles of leftist organization connect to the fellow-travelers. It is more important what the substance of the fellow-travelers conciousness is. And it is not the right attitude to look on the fellowtravelers as only the 1930's phenomenon. The area and role of the fellow-travelers should be extended.
