Abstract
As global competition increases, competing successfully requires companies to

become much more involved in how their suppliers and customers do business. For

this reason, the term “supply chain management (SCM)” has come into being. It has

been 20 years since Korean firms introduced SCM, but SCM still has an academic

and practical value. This article reviews how Korean manufacturing companies

introduced and developed SCM and what the future of SCM is like.
