일본의 산업지역의 발달 -도시산업지역과 지방산업지역의 비교-

Abstract

기존의 많은 연구는 일본의 산업화를 주로 국가주도 혹은 대기업지배구조의 맥락에서 파악하면서 일본의 산업지역이 갖는 정치경제적 의미를 간과하였다 이에 본고는 일본의 산업화 과정에 있어서 지역적 지배구조의 중요성을 분석하였다 일본 산업의 지역적인 전개는 도시의 산업지역과 지방의 산업지역으로 그 발달 패턴이 다르다.도시산업지역은 생산자조합, 지역적인 금융기관 등 생산자들에 의한 발전, 즉 '사회적 공공영역' 이 보다 중심적인데 비해, 지방의 산업지역은 국가가 생산조직에 침투하는, 보다 '국가적 공적영역'이 중심이 된 발전이라고 하겠다.이러한 분석을 통해 본교는 산업화의 형태를 결정하는데 중요한 것은 경제적인 합리성 보다는 국가와 사회의 상이한 권력의 작용에 의해 형성되는 지역적으로 다양한 지배구조의 문제라고 간주한다.

Most explanations of Japanese industrialization in the contemporary era have almost depended on a model of political or industrial organizations coordinated in national systems, including the state and large firms.Overlooked in these discussions is the history of regionally based system of industrialization.This paper concentrates on the regionally differentiated system and re-conceptualizes the path of industrialization in Japan.It contrasts urban and rural industrial districts.It argues that the difference of the industrial districts results from the diverse regional governance patterns.It focuses social institutions and the state to explain the governances.
