Abstract
Although the fit between employee desires and job supplies has been studied extensively as

a part of person-job fit study, little research has focused upon the fit between employee

abilities and job demands. The relationships between the level of person-job fit and job

satisfaction as well as job stress were studied. However, the focus of this study was not to

examine the relationship between the concept of person-job fit (congruence) and two

employee-related outcomes, but to apply a new measure for person-job congruence and test

its validity based on the consequences of the analysis.

That is, two research questions were studied: 1) verifying the operationalization of

employee ability and job requirements via team roles using Interplace software, 2) examining

the relationships between congruence scores measured via Interplace and job satisfaction and

job stress. The strength of the relationships is supposed to support the use of Interplace to

measure person-job congruence. Some limitations of this study and directions for future

research are also addressed.
