독일 통일 후 인문학의 위상 정립에 관한 연구 - 베를린 지역에서의 철학과와 독어학과의 개편을 중심으로

Abstract

This thesis deals with the personnel and structure reformation in the Departments of Philosophy and of German Linguistics of Humboldt University in Berlin after the reunification of Germany. The reformation of the two departments was pursued in the very different manners. We could classify and evaluate, through the comparison of these two different ways, the standards and directions of the liberal arts reformation in the old East-German universities. This case could give a few references. I think, for the reformation of the universities in the course of the unification of Korea.

This thesis deals with the following points in general:

First, Berlin area is taken as a model for examining the personnel and structure reformation of the old East-German universities. I specifically pay attention to the case of Humboldt University.

Secondly. I compare the curriculum-changes and the personnel rearrangement of the two departments before and after the reunification of Germany. As a result of this research I clarify the different courses and standards of their respective changes.

Thirdly, on the basis of the two preceding points I classify and evaluate the merits and demerits which resulted from the reformation after the reunification of Germany.

Lastly, I examine the plausibility of applying the positive results acquired from the above study to our situation in the course of our unification.
