생산성변화가 국내제재산업 경쟁력에 미치는 영향 요인 분석

Abstract

이 연구에서는 국내 제재산업의 생산성 변화와 국제경쟁력과의 관계를 알아보았다. 1970년부터 2003년까지 시계열자료를 이용하여 톤퀴비스트 지수를 구하고 국제경쟁력의 변화에 대한 총요소생산성의 영향을 분석하였다. 국제경쟁력을 측정하는 지표로서 현시비교우위(RCA)지수와 산업내무역(IIT( 지수를 이용하여 국내 제재산업의 경쟁력을 살펴본 결과 지난 30년간 경쟁력은 급격히 줄어든 것으로 나타났다. 생산성 변화가 국제경쟁력에 미치는 영향을 노동생산성, 총요소생산성 및 환율이 포함된 모형을 설정하여 통계적으로 검증하였다. 그 결과 총요소생산성이 경쟁력 향상에 영향을 미치는 주요한 요인으로 나타났고 최근 그 중요성이 더욱 증대되고 있다.

This study analyzed the technological change and competitiveness of sawmill industry in Korea. To analyze the effect of total factor productivity on the change in competitiveness, firstly Tornqvist productivity index was calculated for the period 1970-2003. Over the last three decades, the comparative advantage of Korean sawmill industry has been eroded, as the value of RCA and IIT decreased dramatically. The growth rate of total factor productivity and its relative contribution to output was statistically significant. The result indicates that the growth of total factor productivity played an important role in the change of comparative advantage for the period 1970-2003, and its influence on comparative advantage has increased recently.
