- 우리 나라의 해외직접투자는 1959년 대한중석광업(주)이 미국 뉴욕에 임대업 목적의 부동산을 취득한 것이 효시이나 그후 1967년까지는 국내 경제력의 미성숙과 외환사정의 악화로 외자도입 및 외국인 직접투자 유치에만 주력한 나머지 해외직접투자를 통한 기업의 해외 진출을 전혀 이루어지지 못하였다.
