The performance analysis of a RAKE receiver for
low processing gain direct sequence code-division multiple access
(DS/CDMA) systems is presented in this letter. The multipath
interference effects, that have typically been assumed negligible
or approximated as Gaussian noise, become significant for low
processing gain systems. In this letter, a scheme to accurately
evaluate the multipath interference effects is proposed.
