| dc.description.abstract | 필사본에 의존하여 비교적 한정된 범위에서 유통되고 있던 고전소설은 18세기에 방각본의 형태로 출판되면서부터 본격적인 대량 생산과 유통의 단계에 접어들었다. 이들 고전소설의 방각활동은 19세기 중엽에 이르러 집중되는 모습을 보이다가, 20세기 초엽에 이르러 새로운 인쇄기술에 의존한 활판본 고전소설의 등장에 따라 심각한 위기에 놓이게 되었다. 위기에 놓인 방각본 고전소설은 나름대로 활로를 모색하며 활판본 고전소설과 경쟁하다가 마침내 도서시장으로부터 축출당하기 이르렀다. | - |
