조선후기 황해도 연안 방위체계

Abstract

This paper investigate the coast defense system of Hwanghae Province during the late Joseon Period. To prevent the invasion from Yellow Sea, new coast bases and guard posts had been established, and battle ships and patrol men, cavalry had been arranged. But, in late 18th century, the possibility of war had decreased, on the other hand, smuggling between Korean and Chinese were increased. In 19th century, the Yellow Sea had become the place of private foreign trade.
