MERCOSUR 창설배경

Abstract

In preparing the presentation for "The Background Accounts of the Process for the Formation of MERCOSUR, the Southern Cone Common Market" the writer tries to deal with the subject not with an in-depth academic point of view, but more based on the personal experiences and observations attained during the writer's diplomatic assignments in the countries comprising MERCOSUR, namely Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay. During his tenure in Paraguay, the writer was able to attend the MERCOSUR conference held in Asuncion, Paraguay in 1991. Therefore, the presentation focuses on the general atmosphere surrounding the process of economic integration within the Southern Cone of the South American continent and a short geopolitical review related with the integration.
