Abstract
The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of physical flexibility on muscular balance. The subjects were 120 senior high school students. The sub-tests of the study include: 1) Flexibility Test; trunk forward bent, trunk backward bent, trunk sideward bent and front splits. 2) Static Muscular Balance Tests; One leg balance with bending, one knee balance, one leg standing balance and one leg balance with body paralleling. 3) Dynamic Muscular Balance Tests; one leg dipping, body extention with see-saw form and body extention. The findings and conclusions of this study were as follows: 1) In trunk forward bent and trunk backward bent, the group sampled for the study was better than that of technicalι highschool in the previous study conducted by the researcher. 2) There exists big differences four subtests of static muscular balance. It may be to the deficiency of subjects' static muscular balance training. 3) The corelations between trunk forward bent and static and dynamic balance were 0.42~0.66 or 1% level of significance in all subtests. 4) The corelations between trunk backward bent and static and dynamic balance, except one leg balance with body paralleling were 0.21 to, 0.68. It was either 5% or 1% level of significance. 5) The corelations between trunk sideward bent and static and dynamic balance except one leg balence with body paralleling were 0.24 to 0.42 or 1% level of significance. 6) The corelations between front splits and static and dynamic balance were 0.26 to 0.60 of 1% lever of significance.
