Analysis on the Developmental Process of Personality and Morality in Early Childhood

- This study was performed to systematically review the researches on the developmental process of personality and morality in early childhood. Children’s family interactions were analyzed as to its relations with personality and morality development. Review on the theoretical and empirical researches has been focused on psychoanalysis, social-learning approach and structural-developmental theory. And recent develpment of theoretical and empirical researches on moral develpment are reviewed. Psychoanalytic theory, Hogan’s socioanalytic theory, Haan’s interactional theory and Lifton’s morality template have been analytically reviewed. The relations between parent’s discipline and children’s moral development are investigated as to its context of home education. On the bases of these review, influences of parent’s discipline and home education on children’s moral development are examined. Also guidelines for parent’s appropriate behavior helping children’s moral development are discussd.
