Abstract
This paper reports on an after-school English program, focusing on its pedagogical effects on the interlanguage development of Korean middle school students. The pilot program was initiated and fostered by College of Education of Seoul National University, and implemented and carried out at Sinlim Middle School. Three graduate students from the university taught English composition to 55 middle school students. The 15 week program not only improved the writing skills of the middle school students but also provided the graduate students with meaningful opportunities to put what they learned into practice. In addition, the program strengthened and solidified the educational network between the two educational institutions located in the same community.
