Abstract
This paper starts with a critical review of Krashens Monitor Hypothesis and proceeds to reaffirm the practical values of pedagogical grammar in the teaching/learning of a foreign language. Under the assumption that the criteria for pedagogical grammar for foreign language learners is not theoretical purity but practical effect, this paper also discusses the applicability of recent developments of linguistics to pedagogical grammar.
