In order to determine the usefulness and practicability
of the Hemochron system for the measurement
of the coagulation time, we study fifty open heart
patients comparing the coagulation time between
Hemochron system method and Lee-White method.
The coagulation time by Hemochron system is
slightly shorter than by the Lee-White method.
C7'59"±4'1l"(mean±S.D.) vs.8'32"±4'20"(mean±
S.D.), 0.1>P>0.05J and there is a statistically
significant correlation(r=0.94) and good linear relationship
between the two method.
We consider the measurement of coagulation time
by Hemochron system for the determination of the
heparin neutralization is a very convenient and time
saving method.
