This article focuses on the current situation and status of Korean grammar teaching at the tertiary level in the German speaking countries. First, we provide a short introduction to the history of Korean studies in Germany. Second, we briefly analyse the grammatical and linguistic differences between Korean and German with special reference to morphosyntax. In the third section, we focus on the grammatical and typological differences that include 's~h level-oriented language' versus 'grammatical person-oriented language', grammar or subject-oriented language versus discourse-oriented language, postposition acquisition and sentence processing difficulties. In the fourth section, we critically evaluate four representative Korean textbooks written in German with focus on the grammar contents.-
