닉네임의 언어특징에 대하여

Abstract

사회가 발전하고 시대가 변하고 인터넷의 보급이 날로 활성화되면서 인터넷은 이미 사람들의 일상생활에서 없어서는 안 될 존재로 나타나고 있다. 인터넷은 사람들이 마시는 공기와도 같이 인간의 모든 생활에 영향을 주고 있어 인터넷이 없는 생활은 상상하기조차 어려운 실정이다. 네티즌들은 인터넷이 가져다주는 여러 가지 편리를 자유자재로 향유하면서 채팅을 매개로 서로 정보를 주고받는다. 채팅을 하자면 먼저 인터넷에서 이름을 등록해야 하는데 인터넷 선상의 이름을 일명 닉네임(Nickname)이라고도 한다. 닉네임은 사용자의 이름을 진실하게 반영하는 것도 있지만 많이는 수의성을 띄면서 가상공간에서만 사용되는 기호일 뿐이다. 이름은 자신이 선택하기보다는 부모나 윗세대들이 작명하는 것이기 때문에 윗세대들의 인생관, 가치관 등 사상, 이념을 반영한다. 그러나 닉네임은 사용자 당시의 심리적 감수에 따라 명명하기 때문에 시간과 생활환경의 변화에 따라 닉네임도 수시로 바뀔 수 있다. 닉네임은 사용자의 심리적 변화를 반영하는 동시에 복잡한 인격 특성을 반영한다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 구조, 내용, 문체, 등 면으로 나누어 닉네임의 언어적 특징을 고찰하는데 목적을 둔다.

With the development of the society and the change of the times, the Internet has become so popular that it has already become indispensable in people's everyday life. The Internet is affecting people's life just like the air which human beings breathe, so it is difficult to imagine one's life without the Internet. Netizens are free to enjoy various services brought by the Internet and exchange informations by chatting. They are required to register a name online first before chatting. Names online are called Nicknames. Some of the nicknames truly reflect the user's real names, but much more of them are elective and just symbols only used in the cyber space. Usually ones name is given by the parents or the elders and reflects the ideas of philosophy and values of them. But the nickname is chosen according to the Psychological feelings of the user at that time, so it can be changed depending on the change of time and the living condition of the user at anytime. Nickname not only reflects the psychological changes of the user but also reflects complex personality traits. Therefore, this thesis will focus on the structure, content and literary form to study the linguistic characteristics of the nicknames.
