코퍼스와 한국어 문법 교육

Abstract

본고는 한국어 문법 교육에 있어서의 코퍼스 활용 연구를 분석하고 문법 교수에의 활용을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해, 국내외 언어교육 연구에서의 코퍼스를 활용한 문법 교육 자료 연구와 문법 교수 방안 연구를 분석해 보았다. 언어교육에서의 활용성을 전제로 하여 문법을 어휘 문법, 문장 문법, 담화 문법의 세 영역으로 구분하고 이들 영역에서의 연구 결과를 분석하고자했다.

첫째, 국내외 연구를 비교해 보면 국외의 연구에 비해 국내 연구는 코퍼스 활용 연구가 부족하며, 특히 교수 현장에의 적용 부분이 부족함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 교수자의 코퍼스 접근의 용이성 확보를 통해 해결해야 함을 제안하였다. 둘째, 선행 연구의 분석 결과 한국어교육에서의 코퍼스 구축의 문제점을 발견할 수 있었다. 한국어교육에서의 코퍼스의 사용은 코퍼스 규모나 균형성이 확보되지 못해, 적은 자료의 분석으로 결과를 도출하거나 문어에 치중되어 언어교육에의 효용이 적음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 국가 주도의 대규모 한국어 교육용 코퍼스 구축이 필요함을 의미한다고 보았다. 셋째, 코퍼스 활용을 위한 교사 교육의 필요성이나 음성, 동영상 코퍼스로 이어지는 다양한 유형의 코퍼스가 구축되어야만 문장 문법에 머물고 있는 문법 교육이 어휘 접근적 문법, 담화 차원의 문법, 맥락 차원의 문법 교수로 나아갈 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the corpus studies in Korean grammar teaching and suggest its applications. Based on the applicability in language education, this study divide grammar into three areas: lexico grammar, discourse grammar and sentence grammar and intends to analyze the research results in these areas.

First, this paper finds that the domestic studies lacks in corpus application research compared to the foreign studies, especially in the field application of corpus in teaching. This paper suggests that this problem can be resolved through instructor's easy access to the corpus. Second, this paper analyzes the previous studies and detects the problems regarding corpus building in Korean education. This paper proposes the need for building large corpus led by Korean government. Third, this paper emphasizes the necessity of teacher training using the corpus and building various types of voice and video corpus for grammar education that goes beyond current sentence oriented grammar to lexical approached grammar, discourse grammar and context grammar.
