HAVE/BE 매개변수의 결과로서의 능격성: 북부 러시아어 be- 완료구문을 중심으로

Abstract

Greenberg(1963)가 유형학적인 입장에서 언어들의 통사적 변이(variation)들이 임의적이 아니라 일정한 양식을 가지고 함께 나타난다는 것을 보인 이후, 통사적 변이 양식에 대한 연구는 매개변수(parameter)라는 개념을 중심으로 진행되어 왔다. 형식통사(formal syntax)적 관점에서 볼 때, 매개변수적 변이, 곧 언어들이 2원적으로 나누는 통사적 변이는 기저 구조의 특정 기능소의 자질이 어떻게 설정되느냐에 의해 결정된다.(Chomsky 1981, Borer 1984, Fukui 1988 등). 목적어와 동사의 어순(OV vs. VO)에 따라 후치사 혹은 전치사의 사용이 일관성 있게 나타나는 것과 같이, 상이한 매개변수들이 예측 가능한 양식으로 함께 나타난다는 사실은 매개변수들 사이에 함축적 관계가 존재함을 보여준다. 이는 곧 하나의 매개변수의 결과로 나타나는 통사구조가 다른 매개변수가 발달하는 데 있어 필요조건을 제공한다는 것을 의미한다.
