아동 및 초기청소년의 공격성과 컴퓨터 사용: 자기회귀교차지연모형 검증

Abstract

본 연구는 초등학교 4학년에서 중학교 2학년까지의 아동 및 초기청소년의 공격성과 컴퓨터 사용 시간 간의 종단적 상호관계를 이해하기 위해 수행되었다. 다수의 관련 선행 연구를 바탕으로 자기회귀교차지연모형을 적용 하여 컴퓨터 사용 시간이 공격성에 영향을 미친다는 연구모형, 공격성이 컴퓨터 사용 시간에 영향을 준다는 대안 모형1, 공격성 및 컴퓨터 사용이 순환적으로 상호 강화시킨다는 대안모형2를 설정하였다. 한국청소년정책연구 원이 5년간의 종단 조사를 통해 얻은 한국청소년패널자료를 구조방정식을 통해 분석하여 세 가지 모형 중 자료 에 가장 적합한 모형을 찾으려하였다. 그 결과 공격성 및 컴퓨터 사용이 순환적으로 상호 강화시킨다는 모형이 가장 자료에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 단순히 특정 환경이나 경험이 공격성의 원인이기 보다는 선험적 특성 및 특성에 의해 선택된 환경 간 상호 효과에 주목해야 함을 시사한다. 이 연구의 제한점 및 추후 연구에 대한 제언이 논의되었다.

This study addressed the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between aggression and computer use of Korean youth. Based on previous studies, research model explaining the effect of computer use on aggression, alternative model 1 asserting the effect of aggression on computer use, and alternative model 2 illustrating reciprocal interaction effects between these two variables were established. Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was performed with 5 year panel survey data of elementary school 4th grade students by Korean Adolescents Policy Research Institute for this study. Research results showed that there was reciprocal interaction effects between aggression and computer use. This result implied that the effects of experiences chosen with a priory aggression on the subsequent aggression should be noticed rather than the effects of incident experience.
