예비교사를 대상으로 한 음성 사용 및 위생법 교육: 사례연구

Abstract

음성장애는 직업적으로 음성을 장시간 사용하는 교사들에게 가장 흔한 직업병이다. 교사들에게 음성은 단순한 의미의 의사소통 수단을 너머 교수활동의 주된 도구로써 기능적인 의미를 가진다. 또한, 음성의 문제는 교사의 삶의 질뿐만 아니라 수업의 질로도 이어진다. 그러나 현재 교원양성 과정에는 음성의 올바른 사용법이나 건강관리에 대한 교육이 없다. 본 연구는 예비교사들에게 실시한 음성의 올바른 사용 및 위생 교육이 임용 후 교사들의 음성 기능에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 실시한 사례연구이다. 기질적인 음성장애는 없으나 기능적인 면에서 음성사용에 문제를 보이는 여섯 명의 예비교사들을 음성특성에 따라 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나눈 뒤 실험집단에게는 임용되기 전에 음성관리 프로그램을 실시하였다. 음성관리 프로그램 종료 후 실험대상자들의 음성기능은 개선된 것으로 나타났으며 임용 2개월 후에도 향상된 음성기능은 유지되었다. 음성교육을 받지 않은 통제집단 의 임용 2개월 후 음성은 음향학적 평가에서 유의미한 변화가 없거나 있더라도 정상역치에 미치지 못하였으며 일부는 더 나빠진 것으로 나타났다. 직업적 음성사용자로서 교사들의 음성문제로 인한 불편 해소와 지식 전달자로서의 효과적인 역할 수행을 위해 교원 양성과정에 음성사용에 대한 교육과 훈련이 포함되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of the pre-service education of voice use on the voice function of newly appointed teachers. As previous studies show, student-teachers are to be professional voice users, but they are hardly aware of the state of their voice function nor the method of its care and management. Six female student-teachers with functional voice problems participated and the three of them received voice education and training for eight weeks. All experimental subjects showed an enhancement of their voice function after the voice education and training and also maintained it through their two months of full-time teaching. However, control subjects showed deterioration of their voice functions or didn't have any significant changes, with the exception of two subjects who showed changes for the Fo. From this result, we can find the pre-service voice education is beneficial for the voice function of teachers and also confirm the necessity of it in the pre-service teacher education.
