Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest a guide for drawing maps, which may be made use of in Korea Journals, by examing the maps in Korean Journals on the cartographical point of view, and by comparing these with those which have been used in foreign journals. For this purpose, the author analysed the maps in Korean Journals since 1920s comparing with those of foreign countries. And the author arrived at the Following conclusion: Korea seems to have made little progress in publication, especially of the maps in papers, because, as we know, she was subjected to Japan for a long time and so forbidden to publish papers written in the Korean language for a considerable period after 1930s. Furthermore, she was in the confusion of the Korean War in 1950s. The author hopes that the increase of the scientific study of and the journalist, concern with the maps should be to publishinf more accurate maps of korea in the future.
