dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships of students mental maps in terms of residential desirability and regional economic health in Korea. The results are summarized as follows. 1)Two contrasted phenomena are recognized. The desirability on Kyung-Bu (Seoul-Pusan) axis – Seoul,Suwon,Taejon,Taegu and Pusan region-is very high, but the desirability on D.M.Z. and inland-mountainous region is very low.2) As a result of the analysis on the relationships of the mental maps of residential preference, two phenomena are recognized. One is that the regions upon Kyung-Bu axis and East and South-East coast regions are overestimated in comparison with the level of their regional economic health. The former regions are the places where the large cities are located, and in the latter regions the image as recreation center is more stronger than the rest regions. The other is that military region, inland region and Honam regions are underestimated in comparison with the level of their regional economic health. | - |
