半月面 四里 同族部落에 대한 硏究 - 起源과 發達過程을 中心으로-

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to study the origin and spread of Yangju Chois clan village with and emphasis on the forming process of rural settlement. Growth of number of houses, site of houses, and the expansion and ownership of cultivated lands are analyzed through time. The clan genealogy book of Yangju Choi family were especially useful for tracing the origin of the settlement and growth of population and house holds. Old land registration book and 1/1,200 scale on aerial photographs were used for land use maps and changes of agriculural lands of the village. The results of this study are as follws. About 1510, the first settler of Choi family came to present Kamjagol from Yangjoo as an political refugee at the time of King Yunsan. The development of Choi's clan village may be divided into three stages. The first stage is from 1510 to 1909. The first stage may be subdivided into two parts: from 1510 to 1750, and from 1750 to 1909. During the first 400 years households of Choi families increased very slowly and reached 26 houses at the end of this period, 32 house holds including other clan families. In the first part of the earty stage, population were spread out to four neighbouring villages at the very beginning not after one village became densely populated. In the second part of the first stage, there appeared two groups as an internal differentiationof clan villages of Choi family.
