Abstract
This study is intended to elucidate the geographic characteristic of industrial space through the kind of domestic manual industry and its distribution in the province of Kangwon during the Chosun Dynasty. The material used for this study are the "Sejong Shillok Chiriji", edition of Kanfwon Province, published during the 15th century, "Shinjeung-dong-kook-yoji-seungram," edition of Kangwon Province, published during the 16th century, "Yoji-doso", edition of Kang-won Province, Published during the 18th century, "Daedong-jiji", edition of Kangwon Province, published during the 19th century, and etcetera. In these four documentary records, listed are various local products and special products. Selected from these products are those considered as manual industrial products for analysis and study. Followings are the result of study in summary: 1. In the region where domestic manual industry developed during the Dynasty, the local products and special products greatly contributed to the development of domestic manual industry. The industry which is not diversified even today in this region, has never escaped from this sphere. 2. During the Dynasty, 13 kinds of domestic manual industry thrived in Kangwon Province which were hemp fabrics, cotton fabrics, ramie fabrics, pottery, earthen ware, lacquering, arrowhead, sedge mat. 3. This study has revealed five distributive

types of the domestic manual industry in the province of Kangwon.
