소규모 제조기업 접적지역의 형성과정과 지역적 연계 - 서울시 영등포구 문래동을 사례로 -

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to pay attention to the increase of small firms and to observe their formations particularly, among the changes caused in the economic structure of Seoul. Among other things, I concentrated my efforts on inquiring the formation process of small firms; agglomeration and their constant reproduction. Mullae-dong is selected as the domain of empirical study in this paper. The result of this study are summarized as follows.

First, sorted as metal processing and machinery manufacture, about 1,800 small firms have unbelievably congested Mullae-dong. To speak exactly, this region consists of small firms below 20 employees which do the business like SIC. 28, SIC. 29, SIC. 5142, and so on. Mullae-dong has been known well as an industry region with long history. It has changed its structure of industry according to the changes of social, economic situation. As situated by the sides of residential districts, small firms have got located into region early in the 1980's. We can find very intensive land-use patterns in the region. Although they have suffered from high prices of lands, hugh rents, restrictions about land-use, the traffic jams, regulations on building factory, and government's pressure for relocation, there still remains many small firms in Mullae-dong.
