서울 대림동의 조선족 통로(Portal)로서 장소성 형성

Abstract

서울 내 가장 큰 이국인 밀집거주지인 대림동을 연구지역으로 선정하여 대림동에 거주하거나 근무하는 조선족들과의 심층 인터뷰를 통해 연구를 진행하였다. 서울 대림동은 단기간 내에 형성된 가장 큰 조선족 커뮤니티로, 조선족들에게 연변과 서울을 이어주는 통로로서의 장소감이 형성되었다. 연변의 경관을 재현해놓은 대림동 조선족 거리는 조선족이 주류집단일 정도로 조선족의 점유가 높게 나타나며, 이는 경관적 으로도 두드러지게 나타난다. 문화적응 측면에서 대림동 조선족들은 한국어 학습에 대한 의지와 한국 문화 수용 의지가 높게 나타나고 있으며, 이는 대림동에서 다시 모국으로 돌아가는 조선족들에 의해 한국 문화의 역이동을 이끌어내고 있다. 또한 대림동은 한국 사회 내에서 정체성의 혼란을 겪고 있는 조선족들에게 안식처로서의 역할을 하고 있다. 다양한 일자리 제공과 그에 따른 안정적인 수입은 조선족들로 하여금 한국 사회로의 정착에 도움을 주고 있으며, 영등포구에서 제공하는 다양한 프로그램을 통해 지역주민과의 소통을 이루어내고 있다.

This study choses Daerim-dong which is the largest multi cultural place in Korea and did an indepth interview with Korean Chinese who live or work there. Daerim-dong is a large community within a relatively short time, and has developed as a sense of place and a portal between Seoul and Yanbian to

Korean Chinese. There is a prominence of Korea Chinese people in The Korean Chinese street which contains as strong landscape that can be recognised. They have a strong will to become assimilated into the Korean society. Korean Chinese have a strong determination to study Korean language and the acceptance

of Korean culture. It is also helping the reverse exchange transfer of Korean culture to Yanbian by Korean Chinese who go back to their country. And Daerim-dong became a refuge to the Korean Chinese who were confused about their identity. The community provides a variety of jobs, and thus the stable income helps them to settle in Korean society and wide range of services and programs for foreigners links with local residents is slowly increasing.
