후쿠자와 유키치(福澤 論吉)의 정치평론에 나타난 조선정략론 - 『時事新報』 조선관련 논설(1882~1900)을 중심으로 -

Abstract

This dissertation aims to analyze Fukuzawa Yukichis theory of Chosun politics: to review 313 Chosun-relaated essays carried in [Jiji Shinpo] which Fukuzawa Yukichi presented from the viewpoint of political criticism and to analyze the content of the theory. in detail, this dissertation divides Fukuzawas Chosun-related political criticism into five periods:before the first publicaion of [Jiji Shinpo], about the time of Im-o military revolt, about the time of Kapshin Coup detat, during the period under the syste, of Tianjin treaty, and about the time of the Sino-Japanese War. Fukuzawa's theory of Chosun politics could be confìrmed to coerce the Chosun's civiIization always by means of 'intervention in the national politics by arms' by intimidation all the time with the exception of the period of 'cultural engineering' to Chosun right after the Im-o military revolt. The theory of Chosun politics by means of underta the project for civilization by divering funds' and migration and mixed residence' could be defined, deed, in essence, to be based on intervention in the national politics by arms'. Tbe ultimate purpose or goal of Fukuzawa s theory of Chosun politics, however, was not to annex Chosun but to let it be a client state of or affected by Japan. In short, Fukuzawa who did not have a logic to justify the Japanese entry into Chosun except for the theory of Asian solidarity to prevent spreading flames', maintained a consistent standpoint of just Asian solidarityexclusive of [theory of Chosun politics].
