스페인어 학습자의 의사소통능력 발달을 위한 문화 교육

Abstract

외국어로서의 스페인어(espanol como lengua extranjera: ELE) 교육학 내에 의사소통 접근법이 도입된 이후, 학습자의 의사소통 능력 향상에 있어 언어의 구조 및 규범을 익히는 언어적 능력뿐만 아니라 언어가 사용되는 사회문화적 맥락을 이해하고 이에 맞게 사용할 수 있는 문화적 능력의 발달이 매우 중요해졌다. 따라서 문화는 언어와 대등한 위치의 중요성을 지니며 밀접하게 상호연관되기 때문에 교육 과정에서 이 두 요소의 자연스러운 통합은 최근 ELE 교육의 가장 중요한 교수·학습 목표가 되었다. 본 논문은 ELE 강의 안에서 언어적 요소와 문화적 요소를 자연스럽게 통합한 문화 교육을 실현하기 위한 이론적 토대로 언어 및 문화에 대한 발전적 시각을 제안하는 『유럽 공통참조기준』(2002)과 여기에서 언어 교수·학습의 틀로 제시된 행위중심 접근법을 채택하고자 한다. 우선 학습자의 의사소통 능력을 일반능력과 언어적 의사소통능력으로 나눠서 살펴보고, 다음으로 학습자의 문화 능력에 대해 구체적으로 정의할 것이다. 이어서 행위중심 접근법에 의거해 학습자의 문화 능력의 발달을 목표로 한 한국의 ELE교육 과정에서 필요로 하는 교수·학습 목표를 세부적으로 제시함으로서 올바른 언어·문화 통합 교육의 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

Since the communicative approach was introduced to the practice of teaching Spanish as a foreign language, it has become very important to develop not only the linguistic competence to learn the structures and norms of language but also the cultural competence to understand the sociocultural context of language communication, in order to improve learners communicative competence. Therefore, the integration of language and culture is now considered to be a critical pedagogical goal in teaching and learning Spanish as a foreign language, because the two areas are equally important and closely related to each other. This study adopts the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages(2002) and its action-oriented approach as a theoretical frame for the organic integration in Spanish education. The concepts of the general competences and the communicative competences of language will be fully examined, and the cultural competence of learners will be defined. This study then will provide with recommended objectives of teaching and learning Spanish in the Korean classroom with an aim to improve learners cultural competence based on an action-oriented approach and will suggest methods for effective language-culture integration.
