라틴아메리카 원주민운동: 사파티스타운동과 에콰도르원주민민족연맹(CONAIE)에 대한 비교 연구

Abstract

다양한 사회운동의 출현은 라틴아메리카 정치 무대를 변화시켰다. 이것들은 원주민운동의 등장과 발전을 통해 확인할 수 있다. 라틴아메리카에서는 에콰도르원주민민족연맹(CONAIE)과 사파티스타운동이 원주민운동을 대표한다 할 수 있다. 이 원주민운동들은 근대/식민세계체제와 신자유주의 체지를 의문시하고 거기에 도전했다. 두 운동은 더 정의롭고 올바른 사회관계를 만들 수 있는 대안을 제시하려고 노력했다. 이 논문의 목적은 대항헤게모니 성격을 지닌 사파티스타운동과 CONAIE의 출현 배경과 조직, 담론과 투쟁 등을 비교해보고 두 운동 간에 유사점과 차이점을 파악해 보려는 것이다.

The emergence of multiple social movements has propelled significant changes in the political dynamics of Latin America. The strengthening of indigenous politics is one of the most fundamental dimensions of such changes. In this aspect, the CONAIE(Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador) and the EZLN(Zapatista Army of National Liberation) are those of the most representative cases. These indigenous movements have raised fundamental questions on the modern/colonial world system and they have challenged how social relationships are woven into the capitalist system. They have also been at the forehead in proposing alternative ways to achieve just and worthy social relations. This article aims to compare ideologies, organizations and practices of EZLN and CONAIE, It also tries to illustrate the convergences and divergences of them.
