Duplication of bladder is a rare anomaly and can
be a cause of serious clinical condition.
This 1-month'0Id male infant presenting with am'
phaloce!e and anomaly of external genitalia was
found to have double bladder at autopsy. Associated
anomalies were dysplasia of the left kidney, incom·
plete Y'shaped duplication of left ureter, deviation
of penis to the right with hypospadia, cryptorchidism,
prolapse of rectal mucosa, and separation of pubes.
The cause of death was suspected to be sepsis due
to urinary tract infection. Associated anomalies ineluding
omphalocele are regarded as secondary to
cystic dilatation of duplicated bladder
