문화와 반(反)문화의 동력학: 바흐친 사유에 나타난 소수성과 생성의 정치학

Abstract

바흐친 문화이론의 핵심은 다원론 속의 일원론, 혹은 일원론 속의 다원론에 있다. 상호환원되지 않는 고유한 형식으로서 문화적 표현형식들은 단 하나의 유일한 힘이 상이한 방식으로 지칭되는 이름들이다. 저마다의 고유성을 상실하지 않는 다양한 표현적 형식들이 존재한다는 사실과 더불어, 그 형식들이 발생하고 성장하며 사멸하도록 추동하는, 그리하여 마침내 새롭게 생성하도록 추동하는 존재의 통일성이 <라블레론>을 관통하는 사유의 중핵이라 할 수 있다. 들뢰즈와 가타리, 네그리와 하트의 논의를 빌어, 우리는 바흐친의 문화론이 생성의 존재론에 이어져 있음을 살펴볼 것이다. 문화를 구축하는 실재적인 힘 자체는 반(反)문화라 지칭되는 비공식적 차원에 있다. 공식적 문화의 타자이자 외부인 비공식 문화는 기성의 문화적 제도와 양식, 형태들의 해체를 촉진하는 동시에 또 다른 문화가 탄생할 수 있도록 촉발하는 생성의 근원에 해당된다. 민중적 문화, 웃음의 문화, 그리고 그로테스크 리얼리즘은 이러한 반문화적 생성을 가리키는 언표들로서, 바흐친 문화이론의 궁극적인 요지는 반문화적 역동에 의해 문화의 형성이 견인된다는 사실에 있다. 이때 반문화를 추동하는 파괴적인 힘은 필연적으로 생성의 구축적 힘에 결부되어 있음을 인식해야 할 것이다. 기존의 지배적 문화권력, 문화적 지층을 무너뜨려 새로운 문화적 형식을 창안하는 과정은 정치적 과정이고, 이를 우리는 소수성과 생성의 정치학이라 명명하고자 한다. 이렇게 후기 바흐친 사유에 나타난 문화와 반문화의 동력학은 정치적 사유로 전화된다.

The purpose of this article is to search for the new possibilities of the political philosophy in the light of dynamics between culture and anti-culture in Bakhtinian thought. The main starting point is Bakhtins idea such as the deconstruction and/or the construction of culture, for he argues that there is a fundamental power, which establishes the ontological base for every existence. This idea is primarily expressed and developed in the Rabelais and His World. This paper is an attempt to evaluate it on the basis of modern radical politico-philosophical thoughts of G. Deleuze, F. Guattari, A. Negri among others. At the forefront of this research lies the problems of the power of becoming. The result is a fundamental connection between monism and pluralism. Considering both of these poles within the power of becoming, we can understand that they constitute different expressions of the same power (puissance). What will be revealed in this idea? If we accept the thesis – the power of becoming is the only power in reality, its the real, we see that the veiled core of a culture is the anti-cultural tendencies within it. Thus, the dynamics of (anti-)culture, in fact, is deployed in the socio-political dimension. Thats why the power of becoming-minority is an essential point not only in cultural studies, but also in the politics of culture.
