교사의 작문 피드백 관련 국외 연구 동향 및 주요 쟁점: 네트워크 분석과 문헌 고찰의 적용

Abstract

이 연구는 교사의 작문 피드백에 대한 국외 연구 동향을 파악하되, 시기별 추이나 영역 간 차이 등 변화나 차이에 주목하여 동향을 파악하는 것을 목적으로한다. 그리하여 교사의 작문 피드백을 이론적으로 정리하기 위한 작업의 일환으로서, 네트워크 분석과 문헌 고찰의 두 방법론을 병행하여 양적 동향 분석을 시도함은 물론 질적 검토를 통해 이를 보완하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 표제어 기반 양적 분석을 통해 1980-90년대와 2000년대의 현황 사이에는 연구물의 절대적 수치의 차이뿐만 아니라, 연구 동향에 있어서도 뚜렷한 차이가 나타남을 발견할 수 있었다. 1980-90년대에는 반응이라는 용어를 선호하였던 데 반해, 2000년대 이후에는 피드백이라는 용어를 선호하였다. 한편, 시기별과 영역별 빈도 분석을 함께 실시한 결과, 제1언어 영역에서는 양적으로 축소된 반면, 제2언어 영역에서는 양적으로 많이 확장되는 양상을 보여주었음을 확인하였다. 한편, PFNets 분석을 시기별로 수행한 결과에서는 제2언어 영역의 표제어 결합 관계가 더욱 다양화 되었다는 점, 그리고 전반적으로 더욱 다양한 표제어들과 결합하는 양상을 보여주었다는 점에서 앞서 언급하였던 양적 팽창에 이어 질적 심화도 함께 이루어졌음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 양적 동향 분석 결과에서 도출한 쟁점들을 바탕으로 질적 문헌 고찰이 실시되었으며, 용어 정립 문제 및 제1언어 영역의 교사 작문 피드백 연구 약세 등의 문제를 제기하였다.

This study aims to investigate the international research trends in teachers' written feedback in terms of differences according to period and territory. To conduct a theoretical examination, network analysis and literature review were applied so that conditions were applicable for performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses. From this, it was proved that there were obvious differences between the 1980-1990 period and the post-2000 period. For example, the term response was most often used in the 1980-1990 period, whereas the term feedback was more commonly used in the post-2000 period. According to the results of the frequency analysis by period and territory, research on teachers' written feedback in L1 territory reduced, whereas that in L2 territory increased. The results of PFNets analysis combined with PNNC showed that research in L2 increased not only in its quantitative aspects but also in its qualitative aspects. Qualitative literature review was applied based on these quantitative results and issues regarding terminology and weakness of trends in L1 research, in terms of both quantity and quality, were raised.
