조선간 明文選本 <皇明正嘉八才子文抄> 연구 - 선집기준과 간행시기를 중심으로

Abstract

<皇明正嘉八才子文抄>는 조선에서 간행된 명대 산문선집이다. 八才子는 16세기 명대 중엽 正德, 嘉靖연간에 활약했던 문인 여덟 사람을 가리킨다. 선행연구는 여전히 서지학적 검토 영역에 머물러 있는데, 이는 본 문선집이 제공하는 자료적 한계 즉 누가 언제 선집하고 간행하였는지가 불분명한 상황에서 비롯된 것이기도 하다. 편자와 간행 시기관련 문제는 무엇보다 조선독자에 의해 부여된 새로운 의미와 이 선집본이 조선 문학사에서 자리매김하는 좌표 파악을 위해서 반드시 해결해야 할 절대적인 선결과제이다. 본고는 이러한 궁극적 목표를 위해 선집기준과 간행시기를 중심 주제로 기초 작업을 한 것이다. 우선, 선집본의 구성과 내용면에서 접근하여 편자의 선집기준을 검토했다. 편자의 문학적 취향, 작가군의 선별범위, 문학비평의 준거, 이상 세 가지 소주제로 나누어 정리한 결과, 이 책의 편자는 서정경과 황성증을 기점으로 육조 文風의 작가를 하나로 묶은 것이며, 육조문학의 문채미와 진솔한 감정에 대한 문학적 취향을 왕세정 <예원치언>의 권위를 차용하여 드러내었음이 확인되었다. 한편, 필자는 선행연구가 집중한 판형식과는 차별적으로 텍스트 자체의 내용에 대한 고찰을 통해, 이 책의 간행시기 관련 논의를 진행시켰다. 편자가 <씨명사적>과 본문의 文評에서 인용한 <吳中往哲像贊>이 왕세정 만년 문집인 <弇州續稿>에 수록된 것을 근거로, 이 문집의 중국간행과 조선유입시기가 <황명정가팔재자문초>의 간행연대를 추정할 만한 중요한 단서라고 판단하였다. 분석 결과 <弇州續稿>를 선집에 활용한 <황명정가팔재자문초>의 편찬 시기는 아무리 빨라도 17세기 중반 이후일 가능성이 높다는 결론을 얻었다.

Anthology for Eight telents' prose in ZhengJia Ming China皇明正嘉八才子文抄 is the collection of Ming China prose which was published in Chosun. The term 'Eight Talents' indicate men of letters that they all were active during Zhengde正德 and Jiajing嘉靖 period(l506-1566) of the middle Ming dynasty. The preceding research still mostly be limited to bibliographic investigation, and its characteristics result from a limitation that this literature itself is not well-defined about who selected and when published it. For catching this problem, it is a prime task that the point of editor and publication year of this book correctly is understood, first of all, about the meaning of this literature given by the Chosun reader and coordinate in the Chosun literary world. This paper firstly focus on this literature's basic work, namely, its standards in selected and publication year, and draw a conclusion that writers group were consisted from Xu Zhenqing徐禎卿 to Huang Xingzeng黃省會 with Six Dynasties prose-style. this book's editor gave Wang Shizhen's王世貞 YiYuanZhiYan藝苑卮言 the authority of literatural criticism. About publication year, I also found this anthology employed YanZhouXuGao弇州續稿, and take a conclusion that it was published at the earliest after the middle of the 17C.
